NHL Posters

The NHL (National Hockey League) was formed in 1917 in Montreal, Quebec with a total of four teams. As of 2007, there were 30 teams divided between the United States and Canada. The league is broken up into two 15 team Conferences (Eastern and Western) which are then further divided into 3 five-team divisions. The regular season runs from the first Wednesday in October to the beginning of April with each team playing a total of 82 games , 41 home games and 41 away games. Playoffs begin in April with the two highest-ranking teams facing off in a best of seven series to be crowned the Stanley Cup champion.
