With it roots deep-set in
the African-American culture, Hip Hop rose in popularity in 1970’s New York City
and has became a lifestyle all its own. The earliest forms of Hip-Hop were
Beat-boxing and MCing, which eventually opened the door to rapping and DJ’ing.
Hip Hop artists that shed light upon this new form of music such as Grandmaster
Flash and Lovebug Starski emerged in the 1980’s, but it wasn’t until rappers
like Run DMC, Eazy-E and NWA entered the scene that Hip Hop was widely exposed.
