| If you have never heard of this film before you probably have been sleeping under a rock. Hairspray has become a tradition ever since it's beginning release in 1988 by John Waters who notoriously prior were making controversial films. The original film starred Ricki Lake and famously had Divine, a transsexual who played in most of Waters' films before, playing the role of her mother. The 2008 film starring John Travolta, Michelle Pfeiffer, Christopher Walken, James Marsden, Zac Efron, Amanda Bynes, Queen Latifah in all of the roles of the original is actually more based off the 2002 musical and is more loosely based the John Waters' film. Tracy Turnblad and her best friend Penny Pingleton set out in 1962 Baltimore to pursue stardom while fighting the racially charged segregation that occurs within her town. Our posters of Hairspray have them all, Link Larkin, Motormouth Maybelle, and the Corny Collins Show. The 2008 film even has appearances from Ricki Lake and Ben Stiller.
