| The largest living species of penguin is the Emperor Penguin. Adults average 3.5 feet tall and can weigh up to 75 lbs. Penguins feed on different types of sea animals such as krill, squid, and fish. Penguins cannot fly, instead their wings are highly suited to the aquatic life, propelling them quickly and agilely through the water. Penguins, like many other aquatic animals are darkly colored on one side, and lighter on their underside. This is called counter shading and helps camouflage. |
